Show your support for Chapel Hill?s Community Empowerment Fund (CEF) and enjoy some great local musicians covering songs from The Beach Boys and The Beatles at the 4th annual CEF benefit concert on January 26th, 9pm at Local 506.? The CEF is a non-profit organization run primarily by undergraduate and graduate students that ?provides savings opportunities, small loans, workforce development, and relational support to unemployed and underemployed individuals in Orange and Durham Counties.?
Some of the bands, such as The Bosnian Plums, consist of a collaborative mix of local musicians playing together for this special event.? Other bands, including Supreme Fiction, Morning Brigade, Goodnight Texas, Birds and Arrows, and Mary Johnson Rockers and The Spark have made their musical presence known in North Carolina and around the country.? With each band owning a unique sound, from indie-rock to Appalachian, the interpretations of the popular tunes should be engaging and unexpected.? It all goes to a good cause and tickets are donated-based (recommended $8 contribution), so come help out the Triangle community you love and have some fun!
