Google Maps For iPhone Gets An Upgrade

Google announced they have upgraded the new iPhone Google Maps app to now include seven new countries, icon based local searches and search your contacts.

(1) Seven new countries include Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE.

(2) Search your Google contacts by name, plus you can now choose between kilometers or miles for your preferred distance units.

(3) New local icons to search nearby places, here is a picture of that:
